Buses travel fairly regularly to Bakewell and Matlock and the bus stop is just by the cottage.  Unfortunately the only village shop closed a few years ago and the nearest one is in the village of Winster, approximately 10 minutes drive away by car.  There is a Sainsburys and a Co-op supermarket in Matlock and a Co-op supermarket in Bakewell.
